
By-Laws of the Society
Jurisdiction
The Jurisdiction of the Society shall be international
Administration
The Society shall be administered by an Executive Committee made up of the following officers:
Honorary Chieftain who serves as Board Chairman and serves as the Chief Presiding Officer.
Chancellor who serves in the rank of President, and is the Chief Operating Officer.
Vice Chancellor who shall serve in the traditional position of Vice President and shall undertake such duties as may be assigned by the Honorary Chieftain and Chancellor.
Deputy Chancellor whose duties shall include the overseeing of admissions.
Exchequer who shall serve as treasurer and audit the financial affairs of the Society
Secretary who shall oversee communications to the membership.
First Herald who shall review the uses of arms by the membership and liaise with other heraldic entities.
Herald, who shall perform such duties as assigned by the First Herald
Editor, who shall oversee the publication and distribution of the Society’s Newsletter, The Awen.
And such other officers, chairs and representatives as may be deemed necessary for the operation of the Society.
Terms of Office
Officers serve at the pleasure of the Honorary Chieftain. Vacancies in office are filled by nominations from the Executive Committee and/or the membership of the Society. Nominations are put forward for approval by the Honorary Chieftain.

First Herald: Dr. the Chevalier David Pittman Johnson, NSC, KLJ, pp
Noble Advisors and Patrons
Noble Advisors and Patrons are persons of recognized rank and title with a Celtic heritage who advise and support the goals of the Society.
The founding Noble Advisor of the Society was
His Grace, the late Sir Ian Campbell, 12the Duke of Argyll
The Executive Committee shall from time to time set the amounts of dues and fees as shall be necessary for the operation of the Society. Dues may be waived for:
1. Serving Officers for significant donations of time and funds on the Society’s behalf.
2. Patrons and Noble Advisors
3. Honorary Members
4. Such persons, already a member, who shall apply for a hardship waiver.
Initial fees include: Brevet of Membership, Web Listing, Arms Listing and blazer patch. Current members are also invited to contribute to the AWEN.
Life Membership
Member in all grades may subscribe to Life Membership in the Society. The fee, at time of application shall be $500.00. Converting to Life Membership after joining shall be $400.00. Life members shall take precedence over regular members in the Roll, and shall receive an unique brevet. Additional information is available from the Chancery.
The Society, being a private organization, is not qualified for tax exemption for United State Citizens. However, the Society has associated with the Principality of Tomania, Inc. to administer charitable giving. Members will be notified when their dues and fees may be made to this 501(c) (3) registered charity.
The Society makes annual grants to qualified organizations in support of the Celtic heritage. Nominations for recipients are made by the membership.
